We need these conversations right now... including the vulnerability and tears.
I am heartbroken, outraged and ashamed this injustice has continued for so long.
I will continue to work on the ways in which I can support the black community; to review the ways in which I contribute to the systemic racism that I still may not even realize... choices I have from a position of privilege that could continue to do harm to black people, and to Indigenous people.
We need theses conversations everywhere. We need to open our minds and our hearts and we need to be listening right now to our black brothers and sisters.
